360 Degree Models for #reallinerhk

We were going to post about a new face today (sorry, Karan, tomorrow!), but instead, here are a couple of pictures from the Benefit Cosmetics #reallinerhk launch at Pier 8 today, where Alice, Sydney, Alba, Jai, and Terence (our newest model) are all working hard!

It’s a great event – and thanks to Davena and Yasmin (and the Benefit Cosmetics team) for letting us be a part of it! And, just below, there’s a product shot that shows just what the event was all about!

360 Degree Models in every direction!

A little late posting today, but for a great reason. Our models were everywhere you looked tonight at the CITA/University of Middlesex Graduation Exhibition (and, by the way, congratulations to Aanchal, Kenneth and Jazika!).

There was some wonderful work tonight by Alice, Oriane, Sandra, Sydney, Elektra and Alba as they walked in the fashion show that presented the work of a very talented group of up-and-coming designers. And our models weren’t just in the show – they were also blown up and larger than life in some great images hung around the room – and you can see Alba, Wennie, Bronwyn and Sydney in the images below.

Live from our 1920s/Chicago shoot

Something a bit different today – we have 5 models, 5 makeup artists, 5 hair stylists, a cast of assistants and Michael Bellis behind the camera at a 1920s style shoot. I’ll be updating you throughout the day as we go from PASM studio to the location.

10.20 am - All models are in hair and makeup, getting ready for the first headshots beginning in about 10 minutes from now.

image

11.00 am – Sydney’s just done her headshots – Elektra’s up now, Sophie and Charlene are almost ready, and Alessandro is getting oiled up.

image

11.30 am - just about through the headshots. Charlene’s up now, with just Alessandro to go. Sydney and Elektra are already in their 1920s outfits and ready for the next stage of the shoot.

image

12 noon - Finally, one or two lighting and makeup adjustments later, it’s Alessandro’s turn.

image

1.30 pm – A slight wardrobe malfunction but one size 42 white wing-collared shirt later and Alessandro can finally put his shirt on. In the meantime, Elektra looks stunning.

image
image

image

2.15 pm - Well into the 1920s now, with Sydney absolutely nailing it and Elektra looking sultry. Now it’s Sophie M’s turn up…

image

2.45 pm – The last shots at the studio – now on to the location.

image

3.50 pm - We’ve arrived at our location – the Museum of Medical Sciences and we’re setting up (and touching up hair and makeup) for the final shoot of the day.

image

4.30 pm - And we’ve begun…

image

image

imageimage

4.45 pm - The couples shots, with Alessandro learning that the job of a male model is often to be a handsome lamp post…

image

image

5.00 pm – …and the final group shots

image

5.30 pm - And we’re done and heading home. Thanks to everyone today for some great work. And special thanks to Michael Bellis for all the hard work involved in setting this up.

Models by design (behind the scenes)

Over the past week, Bronwyn, Emilie, Sydney and Alba have been working with some of Hong Kong’s future fashion designers. At 360 Degree Models, we’re big supporters of both local fashion design and local fashion design students, so the agency and our models have been working on this project for very special student rates.

We’ll show you the completed images soon but, in the meantime, here’s a look behind the scenes at Alba, Emilie and Sydney’s shoots (Bronwyn was on location somewhere in Kowloon and we weren’t able to take any snaps).

I love the Chanel-inspired design that Emilie is wearing!

This week at 360 Degree Models

In the last few days, we’ve introduced you to Gaspar, Adji, Stefan and Louis – and there are more fantastic new and experienced models on the way in the next week or so. As you’ll have seen, we represent models of all cultural backgrounds – in fact, the cultural diversity on our model board is something we’re quite proud of.

A number of our models are shooting this week: Sydney is already doing a great job of keeping our newest client well ahead of its shooting schedule (well done, Sydney!), Ben and one of our newest Asian male models, Will (we’ll introduce him to you very soon), are getting ready for a shoot styled by the amazing Kenneth Wong (one of Hong kong’s top fashion stylists); Elektra, Salem, Kaitlin and another new Asian model, Joyce, will also be in front of the cameras in the next few days; and Louis is up for a movie role. We’re also wishing Sophie well for a lookbook casting today.

Our website adjustments have all been completed, and we’re in the process of uploading images to the individual model pages – they’ll be appearing gradually over the next week, so please be patient. You’ll be able to see the portfolios of all of our models very soon.

Finally, open casting this month is on Saturday February 15 and Saturday February 22 from 2pm – 5pm, so please get in touch if you think you have modeling potential. We already have a long list of people to see, so let us know through info@360degreemodels.com if you’re planning to come in, and we’ll let you know the best time.

And to finish off, here’s a picture of Sydney - and make sure you take a look at her introduction post, if you haven’t seen it yet.

Tips for packing your wardrobe for a photo shoot

Joyce and Will, two of our new and as yet unseen models, are heading off to test shoots this week, and Ben, Kaitlin, Elektra, Salem and Sydney will also be spending time in front of the camera. That means it’s a good time to share some advice on packing wardrobe for a shoot.

While paid shoots will generally have wardrobe to spare, models will usually need to pack their own wardrobe for test shoots. And sometimes, even on paid shoots, models will be asked to bring “supplemental items” (as was the case with Tyler last week). Whatever it is that you need to bring along, the bottom line is this – if you want to make sure you look your best, packing properly is essential.

The most important thing to remember is to never toss all of your clothes, shoes and accessories into a backpack (male models are usually more prone to this than female models). Doing this is likely to mean wrinkled clothes and difficulty in finding what you need. And there’s no guarantee that there’ll be a steamer available to get rid of the wrinkles.

So, here are some items that are worth investing in:

1. A Hanging Garment Bag – you can keep your clothes on a hanger, which decreases the chances of them getting wrinkled. Make sure to write your name on your garment bags as well so that it is easily recognizable.

2. Tote Bag - These come in a variety of sizes and are ideal for transporting small wardrobe options that you don’t mind getting wrinkled, like swimsuits. They’re also great for housing your accessories/jewelry and change of underwear.

3. Small Rolling Suitcase – great for transporting shoes! A rolling suitcase that is small enough to hold several pairs of shoes is great when heading to and from locations – and it avoids putting your shoes into contact with your clothing, which could result in stains.

4. Regular Luggage Suitcase – better than a backpack, but not by much: you still need to fold your clothes, which means getting wrinkles. But if this is all you have available in the meantime, it will help keep your clothes in one place and stop them from getting dirty or mixed up with other people’s things.
